The London Lifestyle Awards honour those whose work has made an outstanding contribution to London and its lifestyle. Below we have outlined our case for four nominations for Playboy Club London. We hope you’ll help us to make it happen. Please follow the link to make your nominations: www.londonlifestyleawards.com.
London Bar of the Year: In 2012, Playboy Club London’s Salvatore’s Bar deservedly scooped the gong for London’s Best Bar at the London Lifestyle Awards. One year on, the doors of Salvatore’s Bar have been thrown open to non-members, and guests look forward to live piano entertainment in addition to the drinks Maestro’s signature electrifying cocktails, such as Bunny Bubbles and the irresistible Breakfast Martini. With such inducements as these, it’s no wonder Salvatore’s boasts a loyal following among celebrity and royal clientele. Do your bit to ensure that your favourite bar gets the recognition it deserves and nominate Salvatore’s for London Bar of the Year 2013.
London Personality of the Year: Salvatore Calabrese – dubbed the cocktail ‘Maestro’ – has given over 30 years of outstanding service to the bartending industry. His reputation was established during prior employment at Dukes Hotel, the Lanesborough, and his first solo venture, Salvatore at FIFTY in London’s St James’s. Salvatore has garnered a reputation for expertise in ‘Liquid History’ and is a leading collector of vintage cognacs. At Salvatore’s Bar, these rare elixirs – some dating back to as early as 1770 – are on display; and of course available for guests to sample in Salavatore’s own hand-selected, individual glassware. His commitment and passion have earned him a loyal following from celebrity and royal clientele.
Salvatore has published several books contributing to the public discourse on the art of bartending and mixology. His first, Classic Cocktails (Sterling, 2003) sold over 700,000 copies.
London Club of the Year: Playboy Club London is Mayfair’s most prestigious private members’ club. Its ‘Key-holders’ – the heritage name for a club member at the original Playboy Club – are brought together by their appreciation of the finer things in life and a desire to have their expectations exceeded. And we do just that – exceed expectations. Take Baroque at Playboy, Gerry Calabrese’s live entertainment bar, now with three-course dinners scheduled during the show. Executive Chef Judy Joo has devised the strictly seasonal menu. Bringing together two of life’s great pleasures, food and music, is the sort of sensory innovation we at Playboy Club London specialise in: “If music be the food of love, play on!”
London Members’ Club of the Year: We don’t want to sound conceited, but we think that at Playboy Club London we offer something different than the average private members’ club (by which we mean better). First there is the 24 hour access enjoyed by members to a world-class gaming floor, where Croupier Bunnies cut the decks at classic table games such as American Roulette, Blackjack and Three Card Poker. Then the members’ ‘private living room’, the Players Lounge, a hospitable hub where business meets pleasure. Executive Chef Judy Joo has created a sensational snacking menu available around-the-clock. The doyenne of fine dining provides members with à la carte offerings at The Dining Room by Judy Joo, located on the prestigious members’ only first floor.
